Disaster mitigation interaction programme held at Anantnag

ANANTNAG: In order to provide basic awareness to district/block officers regarding the disaster management, an interactive session regarding disaster mitigation was today held at Dak Bungalow Anantnag.
The meeting was chaired by disaster management expert Professor Dr Ravi Jyee. This follows the instructions laid by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir regarding the mitigation of the disaster in Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian district.
Threadbare discussions were held in mitigating the loss of human lives, property and other assets as a result of various kinds of disasters including the ones that are likely to increase due to global warming and climate change. The expert during the meeting inquired about the preparations, present capacity building measures and to manage circumstances quickly and efficiently during the disasters.
The meeting was attended by ADC Anantnag, all the Tehsildars of the district, officers from Health, Fire & Emergency Services, FS&CA, Police, Irrigation, PHE, Flood Control, Municipality, Red Cross, Forest, Soil Conservation, and other related officers.
