JAMMU/SRINAGAR: A week after consolidating her position with the legislators, Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti Sunday had a meeting with the workers from central Kashmir to discuss with them an outreach plan.

PDP spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir said that the meeting was called to discuss the grassroots mobilisation of party cadres of central Kashmir and to discuss the feedback of party ranks for better outreach.
The meeting was attended by central Kashmir legislators, party office bearers and senior party functionaries. This was a part of PDP’s outreach program which will commence for other Parliamentary constituencies as well.
Mehbooba Mufti asked the party leaders for ensuring better outreach and coordination with party workers and the general public, said PDP Chief Spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir.
Meanwhile, with support of legislative council chairman Haji Inayat Ali, a group of four PDP legislators today addressed a series of meetings in Kargil. Several rallies in Kargil were addressed Haji Inayat Ali and legislators Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Aijaz Mir, Firdous Tak, Yawar Mir besides several other party functionaries and leaders.
These leaders termed the state’s present political phase crucial, and asked people to remain united by not allowing the vested interests to exploit them and barter their aspirations for the petty power gains.
Addressing peoples’ rallies at Kargil ahead of the slated polls for Hill Development Council, several PDP leaders underscored the need to strengthen the party on the ground in midst of the assaults being launched against it by nefarious elements with a sole objective to undermine and suppress it’s just an earnest voice.
While addressing people, the PDP leadership in unison impressed upon the need to foil the villainous designs of the vested interests who are hell-bent to weaken the PDP- a party which was built by the common masses for the representation of their aspirations and redress of their woes.
The party leaders stated further it has now been dawned upon all across the political spectrum of the country as well as the state that PDP shall never barter the peoples aspirations for power and that the party has been in the forefront ever since its inception, pitching for peace, tranquility and a dignified life for the people of Jammu and Kashmir at large. “The party founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed deserted all his comforts and decided to trek the perilous path with a sole reason to get his strife-torn people out of the uncertain times and strengthen their beliefs in the institutions of justice and Fair Play,” legislative council Chairman Haji Inayat Ali said in his address.
