Div Com reviews Baba Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra arrangements

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma reviewed the arrangements for annual Baba Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra in a meeting, here today.
During the meeting, various issues related to security, transportation of pilgrims, setting up of langers, medical facilities, sanitation, water and power supply, security, traffic, lodging and boarding of pilgrims were discussed.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to initiate necessary measures regarding yatra arrangements that need to be made for this annual pilgrimage. He called for close monitoring of essential services to be put in place for the annual pilgrimage.
The Div Com emphasized upon the need for ensuring adequate arrangements by working in a coordinated manner and stressed for ensuring adequate stock of essential commodities, medicare facilities besides cleanliness en-route stations to the shrine.
It was informed that the inaugural function will be held on 16th July and the first batch of pilgrims will leave for obeisance to the holy shrine on 17th July. It was informed that the langars would be available for the pilgrims at various locations enroute.
The meeting was attended by IGP, Dr S D Singh, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav, DC Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz and DC Reasi Prasanna Ramaswamy G (through video conference), Chief Engineers PHE and I&FC ADC Jammu, Arun Manhas, Director Health Services Jammu besides senior functionaries of the concerned departments and members of Baba Amarnath and Budha Amarnath Yatri Niyas, and other religious organizations.
