Skill development programme benefits youth in Jammu

Jammu, Jul 14: Youth of Jammu are being imparted with various technical trainings in a bid to explore their livelihood opportunities. Training to youths is being given by professionals in courses like fashion designing, tailoring, beauty culture and short courses are of plumbing, electrician and many others.

The programme saw participation of youth from the valley in large numbers. "These courses support us in living independent lives," said a student.

The students will also be provided stipend by the Government under the programme. The initiative was appreciated by the youth of the valley.

Militancy in the area over the past years has affected state's industrial sector. However, the demand for technically skilled workers in Jammu and Kashmir is on the rise as the industrial sector is growing.
