Two wanted criminals arrested after encounter in Bijnor

Bijnor, July14: Two notorious criminals, carrying reward of Rs 10,000 each on their head, were arrested after an encounter with police in Nazimabad area here late on Friday night.

Both criminals and a police sub-inspector were injured in exchange of fire during the encounter.

Superintendent of Police Umesh Kumar Singh here on Saturday said that police team intercepted two motorbike-borne suspects during vehicle checking drive in Nazimabad area here. The suspects opened fire on police which was retaliated.

In retaliatory firing both criminals were injured. Sub-Inspector Sanjay was also injured in cross-firing during encounter. All injured were rushed to hospital.

The injured criminals were identified as Shamshad and Naushad and two country-made pistols some cartridges were recovered from them, the SP said, adding that over 25 criminal cases under loot, murder and dacoity charges were registered against them.
