SRINAGAR: Upping the ante at former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti over her threat of renewal of militancy if centre tries to break Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah said she seems to have forgotten that militancy in Kashmir has already been reborn under her most able administration.

Meanwhile, Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of the state, demanded dissolution of the Assembly to put an end to speculations about horse-trading by the BJP.

“It is not only creating confusion, but is also increasing a political uncertainty. The horse trading should be stopped and Assembly should be dissolved immediately,” Abdullah told reporters after paying floral tributes to martyrs of 1931 at Naqashband sahib shrine in the downtown today.

The NC VP further said that Ms Mehbooba has done more to expose the fissures in her party than anyone in Delhi could have done. “She has basically declared open season on her MLAs with her hollow sadre rattling,” he wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

“She must really be desperate if she is threatening the centre with renewed militancy if PDP breaks up. She seems to have forgotten that militancy in Kashmir has already been reborn under her most able administration,” he tweeted.

However, he said let ‘me put this out here for all to remember not one new militant will be created with the breakup of the PDP’. “People will not mourn the demise of a party created in Delhi only to divide the votes of Kashmiris,” he added.

“It is obvious that political power, money plays role so it can happen. But the assembly should be dissolved as Governor’s rule has been imposed for three times in since 2014 elections,” Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president Hassan Mir told reporters after paying floral tributes to martyrs of 1931.

Lashing out at Ms Mehbooba, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief G A Mir said she should have thought about it before forming an alliance with BJP. “Everyone in 2014 advised Ms Mehbooba not to form an alliance with the BJP, but she didn’t listen to them and didn’t not pay any heed to the examples which were in front of her,” Mr Mir told reports while answering a question at Naqashband sahib shrine.
