CRPF officer killed, 3 others injured in militant attack in Anantnag

Anantnag, Jul 13: An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of CRPF was killed and three others, including a civilian, were injured when militants attacked a patrol party in this south Kashmir on Friday, official sources said.

They told TNN that militants attacked a CRPF patrol party at Achabal Chowk in this town. Three CRPF personnel and a civilian were injured in the attack, they said.

The injured were immediately rushed to a hospital, where one of the personnel, identified as ASI M L Meena, succumbed to his injuries.

They said the militants managed to escape from the spot, adding that the entire area has been sealed and a massive search operation launched to nab the attackers.
