J&K Police Cop among 2 held with poppy straw

Jammu, July 12: Two people, including a police personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police, were arrested on Thursday with contraband of poppy straw here on city outskirts.

"During a routine patrolling, a car was intercepted in Gangyal area and the vehicle was frisked," police here said. Two persons were arrested with 50-kg bhukki,'' police said.

They were identified as constable Farid Baksh, resident of Tharo Rasoli, Reasi and Ghulam Ahmed Sufi, resident of Gund Chahal, Anantnag.

Police have registered a case and started investigations.
