Srinagar, Jun 22: Chairman of the Awani Itehad Party (AIP) and MLA from Langate Er Sheikh Abdul Rashid claimed that he was not invited for All Party Meeting (APM) called by Governor N N Vohra on Friday afternoon.

A spokesman of the AIP advocate Abdul Majid Banday in a statement said Er Rashid was not invited by Mr Vohra, who imposed Governor rule and placed the Assembly under suspended animation.

“Not inviting AIP chairman has vindicated the stand of the party on several issues about the Kashmir ”, he said adding it has exposed the ill designs of New Delhi.

Advocate Banday said that it is known to all including friends and foes of AIP that Er Rashid has under all circumstances never compromised on issues related to political aspirations, human rights, and governance.

"It is the truthful, consistent and rational stand of Er Rashid which has very often unnerved people in Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir", spokesman said.

He said by not inviting AIP to the meeting Mr Vohra has itself confessed that Er Rashid is nobody’s mouthpiece and doesn’t believe in taking dictations from anyone when it comes to Kashmir dispute or raising voice against human rights violations.
