Nine security personnel injured in militant grenade attack in south Kashmir

Srinagar, June 22: Nine security personnel, including five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in a militant hand grenade attack on a patrol party at Tral, about 35 km from here in south Kashmir on Friday afternoon, official sources said.

They said militants hurled a hand grenade towards a security force patrol party at main chowk Tral, resulting in injuries to five CRPF and four police personnel.

Some firing shots were heard in the area after the grenade blast, sound of which was heard in the entire town.

The injured were rushed to hospital, they said adding the area was immediately cordoned off and a massive operation has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the attack.
