J&K Guv meets UPSC qualifiers, advises them to serve with honesty
Srinagar, Jun 21: Governor N N Vohra on Thursday met 2017-18 Civil Services qualifiers and advised them to work from the very first day with honesty, dedication and sensitivity for advancing the welfare of the people they are called upon to serve.
He also advised the serving IAS and IPS officers to be sensitive to the needs of the people and try to address their issues on a time bound basis.
A Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Raj Bhavan said that a reception was hosted by the Governor and the First Lady Usha Vohra for the 2017-18 Civil Services qualifiers, along with a number of young IAS and IPS officers who are already serving in the Valley.
“Among this year’s successful candidates who attended the reception included Fazlul Haseeb, Rahul Bhat, Abishek Sharma, Akshay Labroo, Amir Bashir, Shashank Bhaderwaj and Vivek Bhagat,” he said.
The Governor and the First Lady complimented the successful qualifiers for their hard work and congratulated them on their prestigious entry into the various All India and Central Services.
He advised them to fully acquaint themselves with the varied problems they would be required to handle on the completion of their training courses and wished all of them bright careers ahead.
The Governor advised the serving IAS and IPS officers to be sensitive to the needs of the people and try to address their issues on a time bound basis.
He also advised enhanced civil-police interaction for better understanding and effective and time bound redressal of the issues facing the common man.
