Terror strikes: Man shot dead

SRINAGAR: Barely hours after the Ceasefire in Kashmir was revoked by the Union government, terror struck the Valley as terrorists shot dead a government employee late Sunday evening.

“A man was killed after attacked by terrorists at Kelam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday evening,” official sources informed.

Confirming the incident SSP Kulgam Harmeet Singh said that terrorists fired upon a person namely Mohammad Iqbal Kawa-an employee of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department.

Kawa was shifted to Jaglat Mandi hospital where he succumbed to injuries, he added.

Soon after the incident whole area has been cordoned off and security forces have launched a manhunt to nab the attackers, the official said.
