17 teachers suspended in Assam district

Guwahati, Jun 15: Altogether 17 teachers have been suspended for negligence of duty under Lala Education Block in Hailakandi district of southern Assam, official sources said here today.

The order was issued to this effect by District Development Commissioner and Incharge District Elementary Education Officer FR Laskar on June 11 last.

During a sudden visit to these schools, Laskar found the teachers were absent.

He had a telephonic talk with the Director, Elementary Education, and placed them under suspension immediately.
