JAMMU: Rotary Club Jammu in collaboration with Rotary Club Poona Downtown and Ellen Meadows Prosthetic Hands Foundation based in USA is organizing “Free functional Prosthetic Hand distribution Camp “ on August 26, at Aggarwal Dharamshala, Jammu
With the message “Give Hope, Give a Hand”, Rotary Club of Jammu Aastha is organising a first of its kind camp and affected people from J&K, Punjab, Himachal and Haryana are expected to benefit from this camp.
The prosthetic LN4 hands are made in USA and are absolutely maintenance free. Till date, more than 30,000 hands have been distributed by the Foundation across 80 countries including East Africa, Columbia, Ecuador, Vietnam. Jordan and India.
LN4 hand is a functional hand and benefits people who have injured their hands in landmine blasts, work accidents, electricity, acts of violence or suffering from congenital condition.
This light weight hand can be mounted and dismounted very easily and beneficiaries are trained and counseled about its usage during the camp. After the fittings of these "New Hands", people are able to do simple chores for which they had to be helped by others earlier.
These hands have brought smiles to thousands of people and have changed their lives altogether.
