Army help Civilians affected by Cross Border Firing

Jammu, June 02: The Samba Bde of the Indian Army in keeping with its tradition of aiding civilians and garnering goodwill assisted the locals of the region by providing material and moral support to the civilians who had to relocate from the comfort of their homes to the temporary locations due to heavy cross border firing.

The civilians in Samba sect area have been affected by continuous firing and shelling by Pak rangers along the International Border since 15 May 2018 and a large number of civilians had to vacate their homes and had moved to safe areas. They were provided hot meals, drinking water, preliminary medical aid and moral support.

The civilians were also sensitised about the ensuing situation and were advised not to panic. They were also advised of the precautionary measures to be taken when faced with such contingency in the future.
