Police hold raids to nab ex-Minister’s bro

JAMMU:A day after registration of FIR in Police Station Hiranagar in derogatory remarks against none other but chief minister of state, Kathua Police on today also continued its series of raids in and around the border district of Kathua to nab Chowdhary Jitender Singh alias Bubby- the brother of ex Minister Lal Singh.

“We have conducted almost dozen of raids in the possible hideouts of the accused person to nab him and hopefully he would land in police clutches very soon”, said SSP Kathua Shridhar Patil.
Reports said that since the top cop and coalition partner in Jammu and Kashmir Government-PDP are watching Kathua police’s alertness, SSP Kathua has constituted different teams to nab absconding accused.
Reports said that while two police teams conducted raids at the residence of business partners of Bubby in district Jammu, the other teams were sent to Punjab, besides raids in different locations in district Kathua.
For inept, Chowdhary Jitender Singh alias Buby, the brother of BJP leader and former minister Chowdhary Lal Singh, was booked in case FIR No 87/2018 u/s 501,509 RPC at Police Station Hiranagar for using outrageous and offensive language against the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
The FIR against was registered after a video gone viral in which Chowdhary Jitender Singh, the brother of BJP leader and former minister Chowdhary Lal Singh, was seen using highly offensive language against the Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti during the so called ‘Dogra Swabhiman rally’ organized by his brother Lal Singh on Sunday at Hirangar in district Kathua .
Taking suo-motto decision after the video went viral, the Director General of Police Dr S P Vaid directed SSP Kathua Shivraj Patil to lodge FIR against the former minister’s brother.
