Woman, among three injured as Pakistan fires unprovoked on IB in Jammu

Jammu, May 21: A day after calling BSF officials for ceasefire, Pakistan, on Monday morning, yet again violated the truce agreement and fired unprovoked along international border in Arnia sub sector of Jammu injuring three civilians, including a woman.

"Pakistani troops started mortar firing in the general area of Arnia at around 0700 hrs," a BSF official here said.

He said that they targetted Vikram, Chinaz and Nikowal border outposts and other locations of the BSF.

"Meanwhile own troops gave befitting and strong reply to them," they added.

While Darshana Devi and one Mohinder Lal of Pindi Charkan Kalan got seriously injured in the firing, SPO Gurcharan Singh suffered injuries when a motar landed in police station Arnia.

On Sunday, Pakistan had called BSF for ceasefire on borders.

Earlier on May 18, a BSF jawan and four civilians were killed and ten others wounded in cross border firing in Arnia and R S Pura sectors of Jammu.

Last night also, the Pakistani troops fired had unprovoked and shelled forward villages.
