Varanasi Bridge collapse: FIR against Bridge Corporation's officials

Varanasi, May 16: The Varanasi authorities have registered an FIR against the officials of the UP Bridge Corporation over the death of people in the bridge collapse in the city on Tuesday.
However, in another shameful incident, a sweeper of the post-mortem house was suspended after he demanded Rs 200 each for handing over the victims' bodies to the family members.
The authorities learnt about the sweeper (Banarsi)'s demand in the BHU hospital. He was demanding Rs 200 for each body on Wednesday morning.
He was immediately suspended. Later, an FIR was registered against him at the Lanka police station.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against the engineers and the Bridge corporation for the death of the people in the tragedy.
The FIR was registered under section 304,308 and 427 of the IPC at the Cantonment police station area.
