SMVDU Students present paper in National Law University, Delhi

Katra, May 9: SMVDU Research Students Ms. Tanima Anand, Akanksha Sharma and Ayushi of School of Languages and Literature, presented their papers in One-Day International Conference on “Endangered Languages of Delhi-NCR” at National Law University, Delhi on 8th May, 2018.

The conference aimed at supporting and promoting research in Indigenous and Endangered Languages focussing upon marginal languages, non-scheduled languages, languages of tribal and nomadic communities and the languages that deserve a measure of social empathy. Ms.TanimaAnand presented a paper titled “Dogri Modal Auxiliary: An Inquiry into the Dogri Modal”, Ms. Akanksha Sharma presented a paper titled “The morphology of borrowings in Modern Standard Hindi”, and Ms. Ayushi presented a paper titled “Tracing Reduplication Patterns in Western Pahari Languages”.

The conference attracted various eminent personalities from all over the globe, particularly Prof. Uday Narayan Singh, Prof. G. S. Bajpai, Prof. Shailendra Kumar Singh, Prof. J.C. Sharma, Prof. Rajesh Kumar and alike were present to grace the occasion. Prof. Maya Khemlani David, Prof. David Dass and Prof. Phool Kumar Malik presented their views through Skype and appreciated all the endeavours of budding scholors. The research papers of the research students of SMVDU were acknoweldged at a high level and suggested them to continue their researches as it would help their indigeinous languages to grow at a global level.
