Three sisters attempt suicide due to father’s atrocities

Barabanki, Apr 21: Unable to bear atrocities of their father, three sisters attempted suicide by jumping in-front of moving train late on Friday night.

Police sources here on Saturday said that three sisters, residents of Dariyabad area, jumped in front of a moving train at Dariyabad railway station. The victims told police yesterday their father tried to rape their younger sister and when they opposed, he beat them up and threw out of the house.

Though all the three suffered injuries, one of the sisters lost her leg. They were rushed to district hospital where the condition of the elder sister was stated to be critical.

Alleging that the man use to try exploiting them sexually, the victims said whenever they resist his advances, he would beat up him brutally. A manhunt has been launched to nab the culprit who is absconding, police said.
