3 people arrested with charas from Udhampur
Jammu, Apr 20: At least three people, including two women were arrested with charas while one managed to escape on Friday in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Police recovered 1.188 kg of charas at Chenani in Udhampur district," an official spokesman here said.
He said that based on an information, a police party laid a naka on National Highway and intercepted a car on way towards Jammu from Srinagar.
During search of the vehicle, 1.188 kg of charas was recovered from the vehicle hidden very clandestinely inside the AC vents under the dashboard, said the spokesman.
He identified the arrested accused persons as Gurpreet Singh, Lakshmi Devi and Renu Devi, all residents of Udhampur.
Police said that one of the co-accused namely Shokat Ali of Dhanori, Udhampur managed to escape from the spot while manhunt has been launched to nab him.
An FIR has been registered and investigations started.
