Srinagar, Apr 18: Taking a jibe at Tripura Chief Minister for his comment that the internet and satellites existed during the period of the fictional epic Mahabhharata, National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah said lazy archaeologists have been busy digging up stones and rocks when they should have been unearthing remains of computers and server banks of ancient Indian internet.

“Lazy archaeologists have been busy digging up stones and rocks when they should have been unearthing remains of computers and server banks of ancient Indian internet,” Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of the state, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Speaking at a Regional Workshop on Computerization and Reforms at Pragna Bhawan in Agartala, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb of the BJP on Tuesday said, “Internet and satellite communication had existed in the days of Mahabharata.

How could Sanjaya (the charioteer of King Dhritarashtra in the epic) give a detailed account and description to the blind king about the battle of Kurukshetra? It means internet was there, the satellites and that technology was there in this country at that time.
