Candle march in Latur against Kathua, Unnao rapes

Latur, Maharashtra, Apr 18: District and city Congress activists led by MLA Amit Deshmukh took out a candle march from Ganggolai to Gandhi chowk to protest recent incidents of rape against minors in Unnao and Kathua, raising corruption and crimes.

Mr Amit Deshmukh led the candle march on Tuesday night at 2200 hrs along with party activists, including rural MLA Adv Trimbak Bhise, Distrcit Congress chief Adv Venkat Bendre and women party workers.

They said the government had failed to put an end to rapes and other crimes against women in the country.

They demanded death sentence for the rapists .
