New Era Public School celebrates Bhaisaki with full enthusiasm at Rajouri.

Rajouri, Apr 12: The kids of New Era Public School celebrated Bhaisaki, also known as festival of harvest,with full enthusiasm and colorful programmes at school premises here today. Special assembly was conducted to mark the importance of this festival. A cultural Baisakhi dance was performed by the kids in different dance numbers.

The celebration started with the speech of Principal, Palvi Bali.She told the students about the meaning of the festival Baisakhi also referred as festival of swings. It is the festival of Punjab and we celebrate it every year because on this day the wheat crops are harvested.Also,this is among the few Indian festivals that falls on a fixed date.

"Baisakhi is one such festival that is celebrated for different reasons by different people. For the farmers, it is the first day of the Baisakh season which is that time of the year when all their hard work pays off. This is because the crops grown and nurtured by them all year round ripe during this time. They thank God on this day and gather around to celebrate the day as a festival of harvest", added Mrs.Palvi.

After the programme, she distributed the sweets among the staff members and students and the students in return greeted her with handmade Baisakhi cards after that students takes swings and dance over the Punjabi music and enjoy their day with this sweet festival.
