Kalakote gets its own ADC after 25 days of protest.

Struggling for the last couple of weeks, the locals of kalakote finally gets its own Additional Deputy Commissioner by the state government order no.500-GAD of 2018 dated 23-03-18 in which sanction accorded to the up-gradation of the post of SDM Kalakote as ADC and shall hold the charge of the post of ADC till a regular arrange is made.

It is pertinent to mention here that the 25 days long protest/agitation was concluded here today, which include hunger strike, procession etc,followed by opening of business establishments and market which were closed in favour of granting district status.The whole protest was lead by Joint Action Committee and supported by Beopar mandal and Bar Association Kalakote.

In this regard, a huge "Victory Rally" was taken out which was organised by Senior Congress leader and Ex.MLA, Kalakote Mr.Ashok Sharma,Coordinator, AICC Vichar Vibhag.While addressing the gathering, Mr.Sharma said that it is a welcome step and also the victory of the people of Kalakote.The locals got their rights after a long struggle."The unity showed by the people of Kalakote during the whole agitation is appreciable.It would be the biggest strength and also would change the destiny of the people of the area which ultimately bring the new era in the days to come",added Mr. Sharma.

Speaking on the occasion,Thakur Randhir Singh,President, Joint Action Committee, Kalakote thanked district administration as well as other associations who stood by and supported us during whole agitation and made it a successful one.We welcome this decision and ends our strike/ agitation but our demand for district would continue.
