JAMMU : Following intelligence inputs of possible terrorist attack on security installations located along the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, an alert has been sounded in Samba and Kathua districts.
The alert was sounded along the highway after Intelligence Agencies shared these inputs with state police and army.
While Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, SD Singh Jamwal confirmed the report, he refrained from divulging more details.
“Yes, an alert has been sounded but it is general in nature. Nothing is specific,” he informed The News Now.
However, sources in different intelligence agencies said that security forces in bordering Samba and Kathua area were put on high-alert after inputs that anti-national elements may attempt to strike at Jammu-Pathankot NH.
“There are general inputs that terrorists may try to infiltrate from International Border and then target some security installations at National Highway, like they had done in the previous years,” they said.
Following such inputs shared by intelligence agencies, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and other security forces has put their men and machinery on high alert.
