11 teachers suspended, salary of 3 others held in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 18 : Eleven teachers were suspended for unauthorised absence while salary of three others was held for unsatisfactory performance in the central Kashmir district of Budgam, official sources said.

They said a team, headed by Director School Education, conducted a surprise inspection at different educational institutions in Budgam on Saturday.

However, during inspection, only 16 teachers were found present while 11 others were absent in High School Humhama. The Chief Education Officer (CEO) ordered the suspension of teachers with immediate effect.

They said during the inspection of High School Chattergam, the academic feedback from students in various classes was not found good.

The CEO later issued an order to hold the salary of three teachers, they said, adding that the inspection team also visited High School Chattergam, Higher Secondary School Bagat Kani Pora, Middle School Wagoora in BK Pora and Middle School Kralkpora.
