Security forces launch CASO in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 18 : Security forces on Sunday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in South Kashmir district of Anantnag, official sources said.

They said on a tip off about the presence of militants, security forces, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint search operation at Veeri Mohalla, Bijbehara, Anantnag on Sunday. All exit points were sealed and search operation has been launched.

So far no contact was established with the militants, they said adding additional security forces and state police personnel have been deployed outside the cordoned off area to prevent any demonstration and stone pelting.
