JAMMU: A Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) displaced refugee family in Jammu alleged that the brother of National Modi Army (NMA) National Religious Cell President has been making attempts to eliminate the entire family.
The family from Ratti Chhapri Village in Burn Panchayat of Jammu district claimed that the last attempt to kill the head of the family, a 96-year-old man, was made on March 7 this year when the elderly man, Munshi Ram, a Jatt, was kidnapped by some people including the brother of the NMA National Religious Cell President, Daulat Singh, taken to an isolated place and beaten to pulp.
"Had the passerby, some nomads, not noticed my husband crying for help, they would have killed him," Pyari, the wife of the elderly man told The News Now.
The woman said that a written complaint has been lodged with the Kanachack Police Station but FIR has not been registered till date.
Wife of the elderly man claimed that a month back, the attacker, Daulat Singh tried to dig their land to take the muck to his nearby brick-kiln, forcibly.
She said, "When my husband objected to the digging of land without permission, Daulat Singh threatened him of dire consequences."
A month after, she said, she was at her in-laws home while her son, Ramesh Singh was at a brick-kiln where he works. "Getting to know that my husband was alone at home, the assailants hatched a conspiracy and took him to an isolated place with a motive to kill him. But our good luck, some nomads noticed him (Husband of the woman) crying for help. They rescued him," the woman said.
It is surprising to know that the PoK refugee family has adopted the religious preacher, Chanchel Singh, the National Modi Army National Religious Cell President as their son and donated him two Kamahs (16 kanals) of the land piece.
The woman said that her repeated attempts to contact her adopted son telephonically failed initially. "Days after the incident, he (Religious Preacher) replied to a phone call and said that he had nothing to do with his brother and asked me to lodge a written complaint against his brother," the woman said.
"I don't suspect Chanchel Singh's role in the attack on my husband but till date he has not visited our place," the woman said with innocence.
The SP Rural, Shivdeep Singh too blamed the family for inaction in the case from the police side.
He said, "If the SHO concerned has not registered an FIR, the family should visit the Dy SP office or my office. Why didn't they come to any of the police officer's office?"
