SF burst teargas shells to disperse demonstrators in Srinagar outskirts

Srinagar, Mar 17 : Security forces burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse demonstrators at Balhama, where body of the third militant was recovered on Saturday.

Bodies of two other militants killed in an encounter by security forces, were recovered in the wee hours yesterday.

Hundreds of people, mostly youths, took to the streets at Balhama Khammoh in the city outskirts after the body of another militant, believed to be a foreigner, was recovered today.

Raising slogans, the demonstrators clashed with the security forces deployed in the area to prevent people from going towards the area where Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and other security personnel were clearing the debris of two houses damaged in the encounter.

Security forces resorted to lathicharge which had no impact on demonstrators who were pelting stones. Later security forces burst teargas shells, official source said, adding that teargas shells hit a youth who was rushed to hospital at Pampore.
