Life affected in parts of south Kashmir's Pulwama

Srinagar, Mar 16 : Life was on Friday affected in parts of south Kashmir's Pulwama district against the killing of two militants in an encounter by security forces at Khanmoh on the outskirts of Srinagar city in the wee hours.

Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the road in Tral town and adjoining areas. Work in government offices and banks was also affected. Majority educational institutions also remained closed as one of the two militants killed at Khanmoh Rasiq Nabi Bhat was a resident of Tral.

Similarly, business and other activities were paralysed in Awantipora on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

Work was also affected in government offices and banks besides educational institutions as second militant killed in the encounter was identified as Shabir Dar, a resident of of Awantipora.

Additional security forces and state police personnel had been deployed at Pampore and Awantipora on the highway to prevent any law and order problem. Situation elsewhere in south Kashmir was normal. However, authorities suspended train service in south Kashmir for security reasons.
