Vaishno Devi Shrine receives fresh snowfall, chopper service remains suspended

Jammu, Mar 15 : The world famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine on Thursday morning received fresh snowfall situated in Trikuta Hills of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Fresh spell of snowfall was received during wee hours on Thursday at upper reaches of Trikuta Hills and Bhawan.

The hills turned white after the fresh snowfall and cold wave conditions also gripped the region.

Meanwhile the chopper service from Katra base camp to Sanjhi Chhat helipad also remained suspended due to foggy conditions in the hills.

However, a Shrine Board official said that presently 15,000 to 16,000 pilgrims are visiting to Katra to perform pilgrimage to the cave shrine.
