JAMMU: Dismissing rumours which have been circulating on social media that Hindu Ekta Manch has called for Jammu bandh on March 16, the concerned leaders said that there is no such decision.
A message has been massively circulated on whatsapp and facebook that Hindu Ekta Munch gets support from Brahman Sabha Jammu, Rajput Sabha Jammu , Khatri Sabha Jammu , OBC Sabha Jammu and various organisations for making a successful Call for ‘Complete Bandh In Jammu’ on 16 March.
Another message reading, “Hindu Ekta Munch Leader Thanked to the People’s of Samba and Kathua for Shut Down and especially to the Youth of Samba, Jatwal, Ghagwal, Kootah and Hiranagar who participated in Bike Rally in the Favour of Hindu Ekta Munch , which is Demanding CBI Inquiry In Asifa Murder Case, so that the victim may get Justice” has also been circulating.
When contacted, the Hindu Ekta Manch president Vijay Sharma said that they have not circulated any such message and all these are mere rumours.
Sharma also added that he is not even aware that who is circulating these messages.
It is worth mentioning that couple of days back even Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti had warned the Hindu Ekta Manch of Kathua against holding any rally seeking CBI probe into the alleged rape and murder of an eight-year old girl in January.
In a strong tweet, the CM had said, “the case (rape and murder of Asifa) is being investigated thoroughly by a very competent police authority under the supervision of the highest court of the State. Any rally’s or demonstrations in support of the accused are unethical. The law of the land is supreme and justice will prevail.”
Meanwhile, circulation of Jammu bandh call that too on the name of Hindu Ekta Manch is the matter of investigation as who is circulating such rumours and why.
The Hindu Ekta Manch leader also cleared that as BAR Association of Jammu has given March 15 ultimatum to the state government, they will meet the association on March 16.
“We will then decide the further course of action. The agitation of Manch will continue but there is no such bandh call given for any place,” he said.
