BSF seizes 9 kg heroin worth Rs 45 crore from Punjab border

Jalandhar, Mar 14 : Border Security Force recovered 9 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin from the area of responsibility near BoP Khalra.

According to BSF sources, the recovery was made early this morning during search operation launched by the 87 battalion of the BSF near the BoP khalra after the BSF challenged the Pakistani smugglers who threw the contraband from over the Border Security fence. The smuggler fled towards the Pakistani Territory after the BSF opened fire. BSF sleuths also recovered a pistol during search of the area.

BSF sleuths nabbed an Indian smuggler also who allegedly had come to take the contraband.. He had been identified as Balbir Singh, a resident of Amritsar.
