Rajini, Kamal, Tamil film fraternity condole Sridevi's death

Chennai, Feb 25 : Actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, who have paired with Sridevi in several hit movies, and the Tamil film industry on Sunday mourned the death of popular actress Sridevi, who had passed away in Dubai following a heart attack.

Born in Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu, Sridevi, who was the dream girl of the Tamil cinema and later went on to became the No.1 actor in Bollywood, had acted with stars of various generations right from the age of six as a child artiste with legendary actors like MGR and Sivaji Ganesan, besides Kamal, Rajinikanth, Sivakumar, Vijayakumar and others as heroine and as well as the current day actor Vijay in his recent film 'Puli'.

She has also acted as heroine with Sivaji in a few movies.

Condoling Sridevi's sudden demise, Rajini, in a tweet said, 'I'm shocked and very disturbed.''

''I've lost a dear friend and the industry has lost a true legend. My heart goes out to her family and friends'', Rajini said.

''I feel the pain with them #RIPSridev ... you will be missed', he said.

Kamal, who has acted in more films with her than Rajinikanth, tweeted 'Have witnessed Sridevi's life from an adolescent teenager to the magnificient lady she became.''

''Her stardom was well deserved. Many happy moments with her flash through my mind including the last time I met her'', the Viswaroopam actor said.

''Sadma's (remake of Tamil film 'Moondram Pirai, which hade won two National awards for actor Kamal and Cinematography Balu Mahendra in 1983) lullaby haunts me now. We'll miss her'', Kamal said.
