Kaumudi is new ADG CRPF J&K

JAMMU: Varun Sindhu Kul Kaumudi on Wednesday took over as new Additional Director General of CRPF, J&K Zone. An IPS officer of 1986 batch, Kaumudi took over from S N Shrivastava as the new Additional DG at Group Centre CRPF Bantalab, Jammu today.
While taking over his new assignment, Kaumudi said that he is looking forward for productive stint in the state.
Kaumudi has earlier served as SP in the State and then as SP in the Central Bureau of investigation, and also as Additional Director General (ADG) in Railways and in the reputed National Investigation Agency (NIA).
While serving with the Central Bureau of Investigation on deputation, the senior officer cracked the famous fodder scam case. While serving as Inspector General in the Economic Offences Wing of Crime Investigation Department in AP, he investigated the Satyam Computers scandal.
Recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister's Baton and the Union Home Ministry Revolver for being adjudged the best all round IPS probationer of his batch, Kaumudi is considered as a very dynamic officer among his peer group.
Before that the incumbent Shrivastava was accorded a warm farewell by the officers and staff of CRPF at Group Centre Bantalab Jammu.
Shrivastava highly appreciated the role being played by CRPF in the State. He stated that the law and order situation in J&K is very peculiar and challenging and expressed his happiness that CRPF officers and men are tackling with it effectively. He was also high on praise to the level of synergy and coordination developed by the Force with local police and other security agencies.
