Ministers assertion about China adopting JeM, Omar demands explanation

Srinagar, Feb 20 : Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday demanded an explanation from the Union Government about the statement of senior minister of the coalition PDP-BJP government that China has adopted Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

Reacting to the interview of senior minister Naeem Akhtar published in a national daily that China has adopted JeM, operating in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference (NC) working president tweeted, “China has adopted JeM, a terrorist organisation operating in J&K. This assertion from @MehboobaMufti’s closest confidant cannot be dismissed as wild ramblings. Govt of India needs to explain the basis of this statement.”

Mr Akhtar in the interview has said China was expanding its role in Jammu and Kashmir and has adopted JeM.

He has added that it was because of this reason China has blocked the move by India in UN to declared him as a terrorist.
