Two SAP jawans killed, as many cops injured in road mishap

Jamui, Feb 19 : Two Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) jawans were killed and as many police personnel including an assistant sub inspector injured when a speeding truck hit them under Lakshmipur police station area in the district today.

Police said, the truck hit security personnel on Jamui-Munger road when they were embarking on a jeep after sipping tea at Lakshmipur Bazar, killing two SAP jawans on the spot. Sources said the security personnel were returning after completing their night patrolling duty.

Police said the deceased had been identified as Bhulan Yadav (50) and Jitendra Kumar Singh (51). Sources said that a police assistant sub inspector Sanjay Trivedi and jawan Bhairo Sao were injured in the mishap.

The injured cops had been admitted to Jamui Sadar Hospital. The truck driver made good his escape after the mishap. The bodies have been sent for autopsy, sources added.
