Blood donation camps, rallies mark Telangana CM's birthday

Hyderabad, Feb 17 : Telangana Chief Minister and ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao turned 64, on Saturday.

Chandrashekhar Rao, better known and abbreviated as KCR, who was born on February 17, 1954 in Chintamadaka village, Siddipet Mandal of Medak District, is the first and current Chief Minister of Telangana after the state got separated from Andha Pradesh.

He took oath as the first Chief Minister of the new state of Telangana on June 2, 2014.

Party leaders and cadre celebrated Mr Rao's birthday with enthusiasm all over the state by organising rallies and meetings.

At several places, blood donation and health camps were organised by the ruling party men to mark the occasion.

At TRS Bhavan, the party headquarters in the upbeat Banjara Hills area of the city, joyous scenes were witnessed during the celebrations.

Nizamabad MP and daughter of Mr Rao, K Kavitha cut the birthday cake and distributed it among the party leaders and workers.

School children took out rallies carrying Mr Rao's photographs in different parts of the state on the occasion.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh ESL Narasimhan were among those, who extended birthday greetings to Mr Rao.
