Labour department organises awareness programme on welfare schemes at Moghla.

Rajouri, Jan 20 : In order to reach out at the gross root level and genuine beneficiaries for availing benefits of social security schemes,labour department organized an awareness camp in the far flung area of village Mougla tehsil kalakote of district Rajouri.Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Rabia Iqbal Mir along with other officials of labour department were present during the camp.Large number of construction workers besides other prominent people attended the function.

While addressing the gathering, ALC highlighted the objective of launching welfare schemes under JKBOCWW Act and emphasised that the workers should come forward for availing benefits by getting themselves registered with his office.She also listened to the queries of workers and many queries were redressed on spot. ALC issued directions for compliance of all safety norms and welfare facilities as required under different labour laws.

During the camps, the experts highlighted schemes and development programmes of the government besides educating the labourers about their rights and their protection.Her main focus was on SRO 460 regarding the revised wage rate under Minimum Wages Act (1948) and the Child Labour (P&R) Act (1986).
