Goa govt has been targeting taxi operators without understanding their grievances: AAP

Panaji, Jan 20 : Aam Aadmi party (AAP) Goa on Saturday alleged that the state government had been targeting the taxi operators without understanding their grievances.

In a statement here, AAP Goa Convenor Elvis Gomes said for too long the taxi trade in Goa was demonised as if they were the only ones responsible for all ills plaguing tourism.

"Politicians have used and abused these operators. Just because of a few errant taxi operators, the entire industry should not be branded as bad. Foreign tour operators on visit visa operate at will, eating into the livelihoods of these common men while nobody cares,“ Mr Gomes said, claiming that a proper uninterrupted dialogue with the taxi operators by the government was the only way out.
