Punjab based smugglers arrested with poppy straw in Jammu
Jammu, Jan 18 : Two Punjab based drug smugglers were arrested on Thursday with contraband of poppy straw in this winter capital of the state.
"During nakka checking one passenger vehicle (JK02AB 1408) was intercepted early morning at nakka point in Panjtirthi area," police said.
They said that during search approximately 30 kg of poppy straw (bhukki) was recovered from the possession of two persons.
The arrested persons were identified as Jagjeet Singh and Akashdeep, both residents of Jigran district, Ludiana, Punjab.
A case under NDPS Act was registered and investigation started, police added.
