Lucknow, Jan 17 : The BJP has kick-started its preparation for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh by launching a new innovative idea to connect the youths under its millennium youth voters connect and Yuva Udghosh programme.

BJP president Amit Shah would be launching in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 20, when he will attend a programme of the youths titled ' Yuva Udghosh' at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeth.

Youths in the age group of 17 to 35 will attend the programme when the party will boost the idea of connecting at least ten youths in every booth before the Lok Sabha polls. The youths would be digitally registered and they would be given training for it.
On the other hand from January 26, young BJP volunteers called ‘vistaraks’ will start a door-to-door campaign and enroll young people completing 18 years on January 1, 2018, and ask them to cast their votes in the next elections.
The campaign coined ‘Millennium Voters’ campaign will continue till February 10. This seems to be an astute move by the BJP to enroll new voters though the campaign.

UP BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said here on Wednesday that over 13,000 young ‘vistaraks’ in 183 sectors will work asking youths to become voters. They will not only enroll them as voters but ensure that their names are added to voters’ list by the BLO.

“The aim is to ensure that young people, who attain 18 years, are added to the voters’ list and fake voters are thrown out. The Election Commission has started the campaign to enroll new voters and we will only supplement the campaign,” he said.

“The party will treat these youth as new-age voters but for the BJP, they are new age power as they have the potential to change the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is their icon as he believes in caste less society and youths of today believe in development where caste does not interfere,” Mr Pathak added.
