JAMMU: Finance Minister today appealed to the opposition legislators not to tarnish the image of J&K Bank.
He said that he will look into all the issues to make the appointment process in the bank more transparent but the issues related to J&K Bank should not be discussed in the State Assembly, as it tarnishes the image of the bank.
"I remained chairman of the bank from Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Ghulam Nabi Azad to Omar Sahib's government. In these years, the bank has worked in most autonomous manner and its issues were never discussed in the J&K Assembly," Dr Drabu said while appealing the opposition legislators to keep the bank affairs out of State Assembly.
Drabu said that if the bank affairs would be discussed in State Assembly, the institution would not survive.
