There has recently been a trend of writers coming out with books which are light-hearted reads, based on the premise of love stories and college friendships. These books are read mostly while commuting to work, a rainy romantic day or times when one doesn’t want to delve into hassles of intellectual reads. These books are loved by readers who are into this genre, but there are other readers too who want something more from the story- these readers crave for something which is midway between these light-hearted novels and the hefty heavy prose. The author Anurag Garg comes up with such a book “Love Will Find A Way”, which with its fine-spun narrative but not so deft detailing will cater to such an audience.

The author has aptly named the book “Love will find a way”, about which the readers will get to know once they read this enigmatic tale, but he certainly also has a way with words, having two bestselling books “A Half-baked Love Story” and “Love...Not for Sale” to his credit. The titles have made it clear that the author loves writing about the quintessential love stories and the redeeming power of love.

The storyline follows Madhav, who is an aspiring writer but gets stuck in a dead-end corporate job that gives him no joy and no time to write his book. However, he has a mysterious past and there’s more to him than meets the eye. He has been hiding a secret all his life, which, if revealed, may shatter his very existence. His loved ones know that he’s holding something back but don’t suspect anything grave until his girlfriend Meera, tired of his constant mood swings, decides to take him to an art therapy session. There Madhav meets someone who tries to unearth the past he so desperately wants to keep buried. What is this hidden truth? What happened years ago? Why does Madhav not want to go down memory lane? The narrative then goes on to answer these questions.

Speaking of the story, this is a fresh respite from the routine narratives of love triangles and melodramatic peppering in the love stories; with elements of suspense and mystery thrown in. The readers will certainly love the storyline involving conundrums and hidden truths. However, characterisation could have been executed better with deeper analysation of Meera’s character. However, a good storyline has been weaved involving Madhav’s past and this keeps the story interesting.

The book cover shows a couple and numerous snow-covered trees in a grey background, with the title of the book written in bright pink, which tells of the dark mysterious forebodings to this bright love story. The blurb at the back cover also gives a genuine insight into the story, and gets the intrigue seeping into the mind of the reader, who if interested in the genre, will definitely pick the book to read. The art therapy sessions are very well written and the therapist also comes out as a good character.

This is a book that should be read by people interested in the genre of love stories with a mysterious angle, and those conversant with the author’s works for it has all his trademarks. Others may pick up a copy if they want to read moderately styled prose and an easygoing narrative, but with elements of enigma and pent up emotions thrown in.
