Srinagar, Jan 14 (UNI) Traffic on Srinagar-Bandipora road has been suspended on Sunday following information that militants have planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Malroo on the outskirts.

Yesterday, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) detected and defused an IED planted by militants on the Srinagar-Baramulla road at HMT.
Large number of Army, security forces and state police personnel arrived at Malroo, about 12 km from here on the Srinagar-Bandipora road early this morning. Vehicles were plying normally though some of the vehicles were being searched before allowing them to go. Pedestrians were moving freely in the area.
A resident told UNI over phone that security forces directed all shopkeepers to close their shops and traffic has been stopped from both sides.
''We were directed to remain indoor as IED has been planted on the road,'' he said, adding that dogs squads and metal detectors have been pressed into service to detect the IED.
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has also been summoned, they said.
An IED was detected and defused by the BDS at HMT on Srinagar-Baramulla road. Two persons were injured in mysterious fire during the operation. Police is investigation the mystery.
