Two died due to asphyxiation in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 13 : Two people died due to asphyxiation in a room in Pulwama district late Friday night, official sources said on Saturday.

They said two people, reportedly working as labourers, were sleeping in a rented room at Dalipora in Pulwama, where a gas heater was also on for heating purpose. However, both the labourers identified as Mohammad Ashraf and Nissar Ahmad were found dead in the room this morning. The exact cause of their death was being ascertained but it is believed that they have died after inhailing gas from the gas heater.

Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings, they said.

Recently, a man died and another fell unconscious after inhailing gas in a vehicle outside a hospital at Handwara in Kupwara district on January 3.
