Degree college Tangdar headless; students suffer

Kashmir, Dec 13: Government Degree College Tangdar is without principal for last one and half months, which has adversely affected the academics besides hampering the smooth functioning of the the college administration.
The college was established in 2008. The educational institution continues to function in the temporary fabricated sheds as the construction work of college building is still continuing.

About 800 students both male and female enrolled in this college rue the poor infrastructure including lack of space and play ground.
According to students of the college, the principal GN Palla was transferred in October this year after which the college is functioning without a head.
The staff members said that in the absence of the principal, the salary of the staff has not been released and the college was facing several other problems as there was no one authorised to sign the bills.

"We appeal the higher ups in government to appoint a principal in this college so that he can release salaries, bills and make day to day decisions,” a staff member said.
