SRINAGAR: In a massive catch, Police on Tuesday apprehended three persons and recovered demonetised currency notes worth over Rs 13 Lakh in Srinagar.
As per the Police, cops of Police Station Nigeen, during a surprise naka checking at Ashai-bagh in Srinagar, apprehended three persons namely Bashir Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Sultan of Batamaloo, Showket Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad of Pampore and Bashir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir of Panthachowk, Srinagar.
Demonitised currency worth Rs 1363500- Thirteen Lakhs, Sixty-three thousands & Five hundred- was recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, cognizance was taken under The Specified Bank Notes ( Cessation Of Liabilities) Act, 2017 & further investigation was taken up.
