JU accords warm farewell to Dy CM Prof Nirmal Singh

Jammu, Dec 12: Department of History, University of Jammu (JU), accorded a warm farewell to Professor Nirmal K. Singh, the Deputy Chief Minister, on the occasion of his superannuation.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Jigar Muhammed stated that Prof. Singh was an excellent teacher and followed his all the responsibilities with full commitment.

He also spoke about how under his leadership the department was able to reach the height of academic excellence.
Prof. Jigar said that Dr Singh was very much liked by the students because of his nice behavior, disciplined nature and way of dealing with them.
Dr. Singh thanked the department stating that he is touched by all the well-wishes and nice words offered by his colleagues.

He said that he chose the profession because it was dedicated to assisting young people achieve their potential, to revealing or finding their best selves.
He said that he is happy and leaving the department with a sense of satisfaction as he was able to work with best of his ability as a teacher.
He added that while going away he would be taking many of nice moments and thoughts which shall always live on in his memories.
Prof. R.D Sharma, the Vice Chancellor of the university recalled his intimate association with the department of History , particularly with Prof. Nirmal K. Singh.
He added that that Prof. Singh was always known for his commitment towards hard work and sincerity and displayed all the necessary traits and important personal characteristics required for a good teacher.
He has been particularly good at the art of how to manage difficult tasks in competitive environment and solve problems effectively.
He said that now that Prof. Singh is occupying the position of the Deputy Chief Minister, speaks volume about his commitment and sincerely to serve the society and also the faith people reposed in him. It is also a proud moment for the university, he said.
Several people shared their experience of relationship with Prof. Nirmal K. Singh, the Prominent being Prof. Suman Jamwal, Prof. Anita Billoria, Dipankar Sengupta, Prof. Prakash Anthal, Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal , Dr. Jagmeet Kaur. The function was also attended by faculty members of social sciences.
